What is the Wealth Map?

Wealth Map Overview

The Wealth Map in Asora provides a dynamic, visual representation of a family's net worth — from both an ownership and organizational structure perspective. It enables users to explore relationships between owners, entities, and assets, customize presentation modes, and generate detailed insights at individual or family levels.

Purpose

The Wealth Map is designed to:

  • Provide a visual structure of a family’s net worth.

  • Display ownership and entity relationships in an intuitive format.

  • Enable flexible presentation modes for individual and aggregated views.

  • Support data exploration, reporting, and exporting for client presentations.

Owner / Entity Selector

Located at the top-right corner, this selector allows users to choose which owners or entities to include on the map.

  • Selecting an Owner/Entity: Highlights it in blue and includes its holdings in the presentation.

  • Multiple Selection: Displays wealth maps for multiple owners simultaneously.

Presentation Modes

The Wealth Map supports multiple display modes to suit different visualization and reporting needs:

  • Individual Mode:
Displays a separate wealth map for each selected owner or entity.
Example: Selecting Claire and John Johnson will display two distinct maps — one for each.

  • Family Mode:
Combines the selected owners’ and entities’ net worth into a single aggregated family map.
This mode provides a holistic overview of total family wealth and interconnections.

  • Look-Through Mode:
Toggles between viewing only the legal ownership structure or drilling into underlying assets.

    • Disabled: Displays each owner’s direct ownership stakes only (legal balance sheet view).

    • Enabled: Expands through ownership layers to reveal underlying assets, accounts, and liabilities proportional to ownership percentages — offering full transparency into how an owner’s net worth is composed.

Adding Objects

Objects can be added directly onto the Wealth Map to reflect updates in ownership or assets.

  • Add Option: Located within the Owner Selector on the right-hand side of the interface.

  • Drag and Drop: Add owners, entities, or assets directly onto the map.

  • Pre-Population: When an object is dropped on a specific entity, related fields (like ownership) are automatically pre-filled.

Settings Panel

Accessed from the Settings tab within the Owner Selector, this panel offers control over how the map appears and what information it displays.

Display Settings

  • Auto Fit Graph: Automatically resizes the map to fit the visible area.

  • Show/Hide Domicile & Residency: Adds or removes country flags showing tax residency and domicile.

Asset Display Options

  • Show All: Displays all assets (past and current).

  • Current Only: Shows only currently held assets.

  • Hide All: Hides all assets and focuses solely on ownership structures — useful for viewing organizational hierarchies.

Asset Categories

  • Individual: Displays each asset separately.

  • Grouped: Groups assets by category (e.g., Funds, Collectibles, Derivatives).

Item Type Grouping

  • Individual: Displays each entity, real estate, or account separately.

  • Grouped: Combines each type under a single labeled node (e.g., “Entities”, “Real Estate”, “Accounts”).

Interactive Tools & Controls

The Wealth Map includes several interactive tools that make it easy to navigate, customize, and export your view.

View and Layout Options

  • Full Screen Mode: Switch between full-screen and standard view for better visibility.

  • Expand/Collapse Nodes: Quickly expand or collapse all objects on the map.

  • Layout Direction: Choose how the hierarchy flows — Top, Right, Bottom, or Left.

    • Example: “Top” places the owner at the top with all assets displayed below.

Export Options

  • Formats: Export the Wealth Map as PNG, SVG, or PDF.

  • Settings: Select export size and orientation (portrait or landscape).

  • Tip: For the highest visual quality, export in SVG format.

Zoom Controls

  • Zoom In: Focus on smaller details and deeper ownership layers.

  • Zoom Out: Step back to view the complete family or entity structure at once.

Best Practices

  • Use Family Mode with Look-Through Enabled for comprehensive family wealth visualization.

  • Use Hide All and Grouped Item Types when analyzing ownership structures.

  • Export in SVG format for the best resolution in reports and client deliverables.
